Here is a look back at the making of 'Avon', an artwork that we helped Bo Lanyon create last year. Bo's design shows a section through Bristol highlighting the River Avon and the Floating Harbour. The water elements were cast in bronze, while we crafted the surrounding landscape by CNC machining and hand-finishing slabs of Western Hemlock timber.
To ensure precision, we 3D-scanned the bronze casting upon its arrival. This allowed us to achieve an exact fit and a seamless junction between the timber and the bronze.
